Photography illustrated with original artworks as black & white
'The Cherhill Horse', etching by Jeremy Blighton RE

The artwork placed within the book ‘CHALK HILLS WHITE HORSES’ often started as colour originals.

All the contributing artists I contacted were generous and positive enough to send in files of their artwork and allow me to reproduce them in black and white. In particular the work of equine artist Jo Richardson, whose studio in Hampshire I visited to see the commissioned hill-figure linocuts and charcoals, amongst her many oil paintings.   I hope readers will take time to go through the artists’ individual websites included in the ?List of Illustrations? for those artworks that appeal most to them. Artworks include those of Eric Ravilious, Anna Dillon, Jeremy Blighton, Charles Newington, Ian O’Halloran, Helen Brown, Jane Bristowe, Diana Croft, Ian MacCulloch, Lesley Woodhouse, Helen Roddie.  Examples here of some of the thirty-nine artworks…..
